serve the congregation in a ministry of sympathy and witness after Jesus Christ.
 "Come follow Me" Mark 1:17

They are primarily charged to minister to the sick, to the friendless and those in need, within and without of the faith community.

They also manage the weekly care teams.

The Care and Outreach Ministry is an extension of the Deacon's ministry and is coordinated by them.

At present there are over 65 congregation members who work on rotating teams of three.

Working with the Pastor and Deacons the Care & Outreach Teams provide for needs that may arise.  These may include meals,

transportation, visits, errands or other assistance.

Laundry Love is part of a national initiative that "consists of regular opportunities to help people who are struggling financially by assisting them with doing their laundry.   (Click on logo to view Laundry Love website.)

For those living below the poverty line, washing clothes presents both a logistical problem and a financial hardship. Laundry Love partners with local laundromats in cleaning the clothes of those living in shelters, motels, cars, garages and on the streets."

The local effort is orchestrated through St. Luke's Episcopal, operating one night each week in the Amagansett laundromat.  The laundromat will supply the soap, while Laundry Love supplies the quarters to operate the machines.

On the small table in the Narthex you will find a labeled container for quarters. (All monies are accepted, but quarters are especially helpful.)
