¡Cuba 2024! Mission Trip
A group from Long Island’s East End churches are planning to visit their sister church, La Iglesia- Presbiteriana Reformada in Güines, Cuba next February 2024.
It seems a long way off but the preparations for a mission trip to Cuba take months to put together. We will be traveling Tuesday, February 27th from JFK to Havana on a direct flight. The return date is Thursday, March 7, 2024. The Cuban church must apply for religious visas for all religious travelers. This process takes a minimum of 90 days. The Cuban Church has requested that they receive our passport information by December 1.
Have you ever thought about going on a mission trip? Here’s an opportunity for you! . We leave on Tuesday, February 27 and return on Thursday, March 7, flying on Delta. We will spend six days with a sister church in Güines which is about 60 kilometers southeast of Havana. We will live in the manse. We’ll spend time with the pastor and congregation. You’ll see a Living Waters for the World clean water system in action. We’ll experience life in Cuba. Then we’ll be in Old Havana for three nights staying at the Santa Brigida Convent, which is like an old hacienda with interior gardens and fountains. You’ll be able to see the city and have time for reflection.
We travel legally under a U.S. license and a Cuban religious visa that takes 90 days to process. That is why you must send a copy of your passport to me by December 1. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after our return date. The cost including airfare is approximately $2,000 per person. Mission journeys have a way of transforming lives. You think you go to give, but in reality, you receive so much more.
